Microm STS-Transfer Station
 Ultra-thin sections of excellent quality are guided via a continuous laminar flow of water from the knife edge into the heated water bath without manual manipulation.

The system consists of a special disposable blade carrier with laminar flow of water bath mounted directly on the Microtome.
Immediate section stretching occurs as a result of water surface tension simultaneous with cutting.
Paraffin ribbons captured are gently transported via a water bridge and transferred automatically into the water bath.
Unwanted sections and trim debris is collected in a separate removable waste tray

When every section counts, such as from blocks for research projects, small tissue samples from needle biopsies or positive controls, and they have to be recut on a different Microtome, the alignment can be difficult and time-consuming.

An optical alignment instrument that assists in this task was developed (patent pending) and is now presented to histology laboratories by Microm

 CoolCut!

 

Cool idea for your daily needs in histology. The electrical cooled object clamp on the Cool-Cut provides reproducible sectioning conditions by holding the paraffin block within an optimal temperature range. Even for lengthy sectioning conditions without the need to recool outside the clamp can be provided. The clamp temperature remains constantly approx. 20 K below ambient temperature. The Cool-Cut can be attached to all MICROM rotary microtomes and is available with cassette clamp or standard clamp.

 

K300/K400 Fast Freezing Unit

Fast freezing device for cryo-sectioning technique of fixed specimen from biology and medicine as well as for sectioning soft plastics, rubber, textile fibres, wood and other materials.The table-top unit is designed to be attached to a rotary microtome (K300) and to a sliding microtome (K400). Efficient, enclosed cooling circuit enables fast cooling of specimen down to -45°C
